Summary factsheets have been produced for each macrogroup in the lower 48 states plus Alaska (factsheets are not yet available for Hawaii). These provide a short summary of the environment and diagnostic species of a macrogroup. Also included are a representative photo and distribution map. The map is based on the NatureServe developed Map of the Terrestrial Ecosystems of the Conterminous U.S.
Publication of all 178 macrogroup factsheets is forthcoming, but below is one example.
